The PTR100-CPT Compact Inline Refractometer, marketed under the Prismatech brand, is designed using modern technology and high-quality components to measure, display, and control the concentration of transparent and non-transparent solutions.
The device is installed directly on pipelines or tanks and performs real-time measurement of both the refractive index and temperature of the solution—two key parameters that influence concentration. After performing complex calculations and a three-step calibration and compensation process, the system displays the solution concentration in Brix units (°Bx).
The PTR100-CPT features a 128×64-pixel LCD display with touch-sensitive keys, mounted directly on the sensor, allowing users to view real-time measurement results instantly.
In addition, measurement data can be transmitted via digital (RS485) or analog (0/4–20 mA) output ports to an external local controller (such as a PLC).
One of the unique features of the Prismatech Inline Refractometer is its automatic PID-based concentration control, eliminating the need for a separate local controller.
The set point and all controller parameters (including proportional, integral, and derivative coefficients) are fully adjustable by the user.
Digital in-line refractometers, or digital Brix meters, operate using an LED light source that illuminates the sample placed above a prism. The refracted light is then detected by a sensor, which calculates the angle of refraction.
